Eclipson Cobra – Improved Version 2 is an agile and fast EDF sport jet featuring a unique tail configuration rarely seen in this class of aircraft. The model has two tail configurations: a V-tail or a T-tail, allowing builders to select the setup that best suits their flying style. From an aerodynamic standpoint, the performance differences are minimal; however, the T-tail offers improved authority during knife-edge manoeuvres. Another distinctive feature of the Cobra is its innovative landing gear design. The aircraft uses a tail-dragger configuration with the main wheels fully integrated into the wings. As Leonardo da Vinci said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” This landing gear perfectly reflects that philosophy: it is functional, lightweight, easy to print and assemble, robust, low-drag, and visually unobtrusive. Costly carbon-fiber tubes have been replaced with 3D-printed wing spars, delivering the required structural strength while simplifying construction and reducing overall cost.
